It is a beautiful day

Saturday 24 November 2007

I woke up this morning; the sun was shining…a very beautiful day…

I took the kids to my mum…they will spend the weekend in the mountain…

I drove to my weekly “rendez-vous chez l’estheticienne”…today is waxing day…ah!!
I am so glad I have two boys!!! (Sylva…Samira is no more working there!!)

After 2 hours I feel fresh and beautiful ready to conquer the world!!

One phone call and I jump to my car heading towards Beirut to have sushi with Carole…

I look at my watch is 12:30

We go for a quick espresso before lunch…

It is a beautiful day today…

The streets are crowded…full of life…

13:30 time for sushi…

We enter to the restaurant! Ah our lucky day! we find a table without reservation…

2 glasses of wine and we order the best sushi ever…

Stories after stories, political analysis, gossip, relationships, more gossip…future plans…

The restaurant is full
We are full
It is 16:30…
Ready to go…

Carole and I look at each other…It is a beautiful day!!

Today...the Republic of Lebanon has no president!!

It is a beautiful day

Next President of Lebanon

Tuesday 2:40 Bsalim,
I go to pick up my son from school…
I arrive, park the car, chat with the genitor and walk straight to the main gate to pick up Marco…
As soon as I get there, I read in big fonts: “From 21 till 24 November school is closed”…

No…no mid term vacations…
No…no winter vacations…

Yes…absurdity of being Lebanese…
Yes…ridiculousness of having a malfunctioning Lebanese system

The school is closing its doors in the face of its students because our irresponsible, immature, foolish, stupid, brainless, dull politicians MIGHT elect a president for this archaic, rotten republic of Lebanon…

What can I say more?

I really can’t find the words… It is repulsive to see what we are seeing and to hear what we are hearing and to live what we are living…

You want to know how to lose a country?
You want to know how to deconstruct a country?
You want to know how to dismantle a country?
You want to know how to end the existence of a country?

Come to Lebanon…
Register to the intensive course given by the greatest practitioners ever…All experienced politicians will put you on track…
At the end of the course you will get a certified diploma, signed by the Lebanese population…

Salute to the next president of our Republic!!!

The Lebanon Show, an International Production

I have to write something…
I have no idea what to write about…
I am stuck…
Words, thoughts, ideas pass through my head… nothing sinks in…
What to write about?
You want to know who I support for president in Lebanon?
What for?
You have to ask the Americans, the French, the Israelis, the Syrians, the Saudis, the Iranians who they support for president in Lebanon…That is more useful…
You think I am writing this with bitterness?
Not at all…
I told you before…I have accepted the fact that Lebanon is and will always be a buffer state…
Lebanon is the best experiment for International relations…
Our politicians are not just local politicians, they have international dimensions…

Everything is fake…just like the Truman Show…everybody has a specific role to play…and life goes on…

We the people have the role of desperate citizens; we are not allowed to walk away from the set. We have to stay the Proud and Resistant citizens in the movie…
Whatever happens in the country, we the extras have to hang on…without us the movie is not very credible…

Our politicians have the mission to destroy the country…

They are divided to 2 groups; whoever blows up the country first wins the game…

Each group has external support of course…

Each group has its external consultants and advisory board…They give them suggestions, hints, tips and provides them with fuel and ammunitions to survive…

The Lebanon Show is an International production, with scriptwriters from the Arab world, Israel, Iran, Europe and the US.

Each day the actors/politicians get the scenario of the day…
The extras, we the people, have no lines…we are just around…

And the script is still being written…and the country is still being destroyed bit by bit…

And you have to be very patient…the end is not written yet…

Ah!! Et voila finally... I have managed to write another post…

I love Toblerone

I love eating Toblerone, the Swiss milk chocolate with honey and almond nougat…

I love drinking diet pepsi, even though my dentist gets upset…

I am definitely a red wine fan…I hate white wine…

I am always glad to roll the best makis to my friends…

I am always tempted to buy sunglasses…every month…almost…

My latest discovery was that I am afraid of heights…

But high heels I like to put on when I am in “flirting mood”…

My before latest discovery was that I am “not a bad writer”…

My dream for now is for Madonna to sing one of the songs I wrote…

My sister is going to Sweden next week…I wish I could go with her…

Traveling is one of the best things, one of the things that I enjoy doing…

My next destination is Croatia…

The UK, I miss I haven’t been in London for 4 years now…

But the big question is when will I be able to go to Jerusalem?

Fairuz, I don’t like…but definitely I am a fan of Majid Rumi…

Maybe you are wondering what is the purpose of this post?…

I have no idea…I am just writing whatever is coming to my mind…

I just had a bar of toblerone and suddenly all these thoughts came to my mind…

Have a great weekend…

and let me go have another Toblerone...

Today I died

Today for the first time, I was unable to state loudly: “Yes I want to be another Margaret Thatcher, or Indira Ghandi, or Hillary Clinton”…

Today for the first time, I was unable to say: “Yes my aim is to get the Noble Peace Prize”…

Today for the first time, I was unable to declare clearly: “Yes I want to reach a point where I can influence people concerning the stupid conflict in the Middle East”…

Today the Hero in me died…

I wasn’t expecting it…I wasn’t prepared…

I saw a bullet coming towards me I never thought it will hit my soul…

It was a direct shot…straight to my soul…

Today I stand alone…

Me, the one that has to bury the hero…
Me, the one that has forgotten to protect her soul…

Today I stand alone…with the present that I have been keeping away from me…

Today, I only have that present, that stranger to deal with…

Today, while I have to mourn the hero in me and my soul, I discover that I am only an ordinary person that will have to accept that she will remain an ordinary person…

Not everybody is meant to be a hero…

Today…I raise the white flag…The most beautiful part of me died…

TV night out

Tonight was my TV night out…
Husband not home…
Kids to bed…
Me in front of TV…
It has been ages since I had such a night…

October was an almost politics free month…
I refused to watch the news or read the newspapers…
They want to elect a president…they want to fight Israel…who cares…it has become a very boring Mexican soap opera…
No politics for a month…and my mood is getting better…

So, here I am sitting on my favorite sofa in my newly refurbished sitting room…
Remote in hand…Diet pepsi on my left…Heaven on Earth…

I start zapping…music channels…lots of half naked girls…good in acting…horrific voice…welcome to the music world in the Arab world…

Comedy channels…movie channels…talk shows…move on, move on… where is ARTE? I can’t find the channel…

And then I find AlHurra…the channel that was supposed to win the hearts and minds of Arabs…I stop…

Oh no!!! I am hooked…

Sam Mnassah, a Lebanese journalist, interviewing Gilad Shir (head of negotiation team in Camp David), Israel Hassoun (member of Knesset) and Jebril Rajjoub…

Nothing has changed since the last time I watched something political…They are still talking about Syria, if Bashar is sincere in calling for peace talks with the Israelis…still talking about the peace conference…

Boring…Boring…Boring…

I zap…I am becoming very sensitive…I can’t hear the words Bashar, peace, Israel in the same sentence…and add to the list Hezbollah…and I start itching…

I stop at MBC 4…they are showing “Commander in Chief”…
Ah! I have already seen that episode…in Iraq…I got the whole season one from Iraq…from Fadi in Ain Qawa…ah Fadi a very nice guy!!!

Then I thought!!...I like the Americans…
Why do you think they produced the series Commander in Chief?
They are just preparing the American public to the fact that maybe one day they will have a Woman president!!! Hello Hilary Clinton…

They are preparing the American public that it is normal to have a Woman president…she is capable of running the country; she is capable of defending the country, to take the right decisions!!!

The Americans!!! Great minds…

Patience...Patience...

How can you teach a new born baby to be patient when s/he is crying for milk?

How can you teach a teenager to be patient when s/he is putting on her/his parents clothes on?

How can you teach an adolescent to be patient when he is shaving the non-existing yet beard?

How can you teach a student to be patient when s/he is waiting for his exam results?

How can you teach a patient to be patient when s/he is waiting for her/his diagnosis?

How can you teach a singer to be patient when s/he is spending sleepless days and nights to find the “hit song”?

How can you teach a dreamer to be patient when s/he is running to conquer the world?
